Lesson 5,

Yaaaaawwwwwwwnnn!......
No sign of Fleur still......
It's a hot day.....
I'm feeling,
sleeeeeeeeeeepyyyyyyyyyyyyyy......
Aaaaaaaaaahhhh.
|
OH hi!
Sorry I'm late!
Hey are you sleeping?
Sorry, I was helping sort out some things for my sister's birthday party.
You're invited of course, it's tomorrow.
|
Hooray I love birthday parties.
Will there be cake and chocolate bones?
|
Of course there will; and games, like tug of war, chase the stick, and pin the dynamite on the cat.
But first, since its a birthday, you need to know how to talk about how old someone is.
So lets get the lesson started shall we.
|
To ask how old someone is, you say,
Quel âge as-tu?
If it's an adult, you should say,
Quel âge avez vous?
Try it now ask me, Quel âge as-tu?
|

Quel âge as-tu?
|
J'ai deux ans.
I'm two years old.
It was my birthday a few weeks ago.
Quel âge as-tu?
|
J'ai errrm, how do I say one?
|
Numbers from one to five are,
un, deux, trois, quatre, cinq,
Pronounced ern, der, twa, kat, sank.
|
So I say,
J'ai un ans?
|
Oui, bravo Rocky.
Oh there's my uncle Jaques,
Oncle Jaques, quel âge avez vous?
|
J'ai huit ans, pourquoi?
|
J'enseigne le français.
|
Ah! Ma petite maîtresse, bonne chance. Au revoir.
|
What did he say?
|
He called me his little schoolmistress.
Bonne chance means good luck.
|
I have to go now,
there is so much to do before the party.
|
O.K. au revoir, merci Fleur.
See you tomorrow.
|
Back to start.
